Dentures

A denture is a specialised removable prosthesis designed to address the absence of teeth and surrounding tissues within the oral cavity. At our practice, we offer two distinct types of dentures—complete and partial dentures—each tailored to meet specific dental needs.

Complete dentures serve as a comprehensive solution when all natural teeth are missing. Crafted with precision, these dentures replace an entire set of teeth, providing both functional support and aesthetic restoration. Our complete dentures are expertly designed to fit comfortably and securely, allowing patients to regain the ability to chew, speak, and smile with confidence.

On the other hand, partial dentures are employed when some natural teeth remain. These customised dental appliances seamlessly integrate with existing teeth, filling in the gaps created by missing ones. Our partial dentures not only enhance oral function but also contribute to the overall harmony and balance of your smile.

How long does it take to make dentures?

The denture development process takes about three to six weeks and several appointments, once your dentist at Bright Image determines what type of appliance is best for you.

How are dentures retained?
Full dentures are retained by suction to the gums and partial dentures have clasps on them that wrap around the natural teeth.
What problems could I have with dentures?
Dentures can be loose if there is inadequate bone or gum support. This can result in the dentures coming loose when you laugh or cough. Food can also get underneath the denture if they do not sit properly. Apart from causing embarrassment frequent and abnormal movements of dentures can cause ulceration and sore gums
Are there options to stabilise loose dentures?
Denture implants can be used to retain or support a denture. A cost-effective solution is to use two implants to stabilise the denture. Alternately four or more implants can be used to fix the denture (bridge) permanently. A fixed implant bridge will transfer all the forces to the bone and cause less discomfort to your gums.
